This is one of the best articles I’ve ever read on being a creative professional. Like you, I’ve been doing this a long time (been a freelance designer for 18 years), and I’ve found that I’ve learned all the same lessons that you point out here. There are certainly a set of universal truths to our line of work, and some of them are difficult to learn without the trial and error of experience. But in the end, you learn them and you’re successful, or you fail to learn them and your business fails too.
