This is an important point for new freelancers. There can be a misconception that freelancing is a shortcut or somehow easier than traditional employment, when in fact it’s the opposite. It takes years of hard work and consistent service to build a reputable freelance business. Just like any other job you have to start near the bottom and be willing to work your way up.

The difference is, there comes a point when you suddenly gain a lot of choice and a lot of freedom, and that leads to a way higher ceiling than your employment would have offered, all while you’re enjoying your work and lifestyle more. For those of us with the right disposition for running our own business, and the willingness to put in the work every day, freelancing is the only way worth working. But you only get there if you stick to it and work smart.
