The way I talk about my services, and the reputation I have — especially locally — means I don’t get many low-budget clients approaching me anymore. But I do sometimes have to turn down clients because they simply don’t have enough money to achieve the level of quality I’m used to producing.
More often, when I’m turning down clients, it’s because I’m too busy. I’m often booked months in advance so am frequently turning down work that I’m not available to start soon enough. Managing that availability and balancing it with the types of clients I want to work with is the largest challenge for me.
