I’ve found them useful when you do need a deliverable to share with the client or other project partner/stakeholder. Sometimes that’s for content planning and design. Sometimes for dev scoping, etc. Paper scribbles aren’t formal enough, but of course, hi-fi wireframes are total overkill. That’s where the middle ground of low-fi digital wireframes still comes in very handy for me.

I don’t do them for every project, but for the ones where it really matters they’re invaluable.
