I wrote this in response to Scott Geyer’s comment but I’ll put it here as well…

Here in New Zealand we haven’t been misreporting numbers or getting communist, and we’ve got one of the best Cornovirus responses in the world. The point is: learn from evidence that shows what’s working, and enact it quickly, even if it’s inconvenient. I’d rather be in lockdown for month and be alive, than be completely free and have thousands of deaths.

With a pandemic, freedom is what spreads it. The one and only way to stop it is to remove freedoms. That’s not communist, it’s simply common sense.
