I really enjoyed how you outlined the differences in mindset between past and present generations, and how that connects to our “smaller” world.

Being part of the gig economy (freelancing) is entrepreneurship. It’s running your own business instead of working for someone else. That’s precisely what allows for its wonderful freedoms, but it’s also the reason why so many people are unprepared for that lifestyle.

Education needs to include things like communication skills, finances and budgeting, professionalism, marketing, etc. Common-sense business skills that are essential for running your own freelance business. Doesn’t matter how great you are at design, coding, or whatever if you can’t be a reliable business owner too.

If the gig economy is the future, we need to be training more entrepreneurs.
