I love this Imogen. I’ve been a freelancer for 18 years and have certainly felt all angles of this paradox from time to time. I love the conclusion you’ve made that true freedom isn’t the absence of rules, but the support of good rules.

Freelancing definitely takes a self-disciplined attitude and some people just aren’t cut out for it if they can’t create rules for themselves. But I’ve found if you create the right balance of structure for your business, it’s extremely rewarding and productive.
