Good stuff Nicolas. These same concepts apply to a lot more than just hiring employees.

I run my own independent design business. I don’t have employees. But I am essentially “hired” be each and every one of my clients. The same points you make about being authentic, personalising your communication, telling people why you care and why you’ll do well— these are all the exact same things that make for successful communication with potential clients.

It’s common sense stuff really, and it applies to all kinds of business communication at all levels. Show how many shits you give about what you’re applying for, and that genuine interest will shine through.
