As a NZ resident, all I can say is that I feel like there’s nowhere on Earth that’s handling this crisis better than NZ is. I feel so fortunate to have good leadership right now when we only have to look at the US to see what happens when leadership fails.
Yes Ardern may not be perfect (who is?) but she’s proven herself to be able to handle the biggest crises of our generation with more aplomb than most. This government's term has come with one crisis after another (Christchurch mosque shootings, White Island eruption, and now Coronavirus), and her team has handled each one amazingly well.
There will always be haters in the opposition party, but it’s awfully hard to look at the situation objectively and think that Ardern could have done anything significantly different or better.
Times of crisis are when true leaders stand up. I’m glad NZ has one.
